Speaking of RJ11, we know that it is a universal telephone connector. In fact, it was originally a common connector developed by Western Electric Company in the United States. It was originally called WExW, with a six-pin shape. WE6W used all six contacts, while WE2W only used the middle two. Later, it became one of the RJ series connectors. The name RJ stands for Registered Jack, and the USOC code (Universal Service Ordering Codes Universal Service Classification Code) comes from the Bell System, where USOC is a family of registered jacks and wiring developed by the Bell System. It is used to connect user equipment to the public network and is currently regulated by FCC documents. RJ11 and RJ14 and RJ25 are the same series, the same size, the width is 9.5mm, but the number of contacts is different. RJ11 has only one pair of contacts in the middle, which can connect one pair of wires, represented by 6P2C (sixposiTIon, twoconductor); RJ14 has four contacts in the middle, which can connect two pairs of wires, represented by 6P4C; RJ25 uses all six contacts, which can connect three pairs of wires, represented by 6P6C. In some cases, this connector can also be used to provide low-voltage, low-power power (AC or DC), typically using PIN2 and PIN5 (black and yellow wires). RJ11 is commonly referred to as the 9.5mm series, with RJ11-6P2C, RJ11-6P4C, and RJ11-6P6 C distinguishing the number of contacts. A connector is also used on the phone to connect the phone to the handle, the 4P4C (also known as RJ22 and in series with RJ9.RJ10), 4 contacts, 7.5mm wide, smaller in size than the RJ11. This connector is also used by Apple's Macintosh system, which is used to connect the mainframe to the keyboard, and the DirecTV set-top box. RJ11 is the standard telephone connector in the United States, compared with BS6312 in the United Kingdom, F-010 in France, TAEconnector in Germany, TDO-connector in Austria and WT-4 in Poland, which is a big difference. The most used RJ connector today is the RJ45 for Ethernet connections, the 8P8C, which can connect four twisted pairs and is 12 mm wide, slightly wider than the RJ11 series. RJ45 is also sometimes used for telephone or RS232 connections, and is also used to carry VGA video signals. There is also an 8P8C connector called RJ61, which is used to connect twisted pairs. Because two of the three or four pairs of twisted pairs are far apart, they will cause great crosstalk and are not suitable for transmitting high frequency signals such as Ethernet. In addition, RJ48 is also a type of 8P8C, which can be used to connect 4 pairs of T1 data links, and each pair transmits 23 voice channels of time division multiplexing.
