How do I read I-PEX connector product drawings?

Product drawings are the engineer's language. Engineers communicate through drawings, and the manufacturing department processes and assembles according to the drawings. As a rigorous and practical expression, any ambiguity in drawings will directly affect design, development and production applications. It can be said that the reading and understanding of product drawings is crucial to the engineer's design work and the production of the production line. While there are general standards to follow when drawing mechanical products, drawings vary from company to company. This article can help you better understand I-PEX product drawings, more efficient design development work, and communicate with your production line.

1: Find product drawings:

I-PEX product drawings can be viewed and downloaded on our official website (www.i-pex.com).

Click "Products" on the header menu and select the product category or click the product image in the product filter section of the home page. You can also find the product page by entering the product name or product part number you are looking for into the search box in the top right corner of the page.

When you open the product page, select "2D Drawing" in the "Downloads" area. You will see the drawings associated with this product. Select the drawings to download.

2: Connector product drawing composition:

We take the drawing of the CABLINE ®-CA II series socket (20682) as an example. I-PEX product diagram usually consists of several pages, and each page is divided into a certain area, as shown in the figure below.

For plastic materials, the flame retardant level and color are indicated; For metal materials, specifications, part numbers and dimensions table of electroplating are indicated

This table is at the top left of the front page of the drawing 1. Recommended P/N (material number) Some products have different styles and versions, so they will have multiple material numbers. The recommended material number refers to the most widely used or latest version of the product. I-PEX recommends that customers use the recommended material number as much as possible unless your application requires other styles for some special reason. (The mark "* *" in the recommended P/N indicates the position number.) 2. The number of pins available and the list of sizes that vary by the number of pins. 3. 3: Product specification page:

The product specifications page lists the relatively important electrical and mechanical specifications of the product.

Generally speaking, I-PEX has another technical document called product specifications, which lists various electrical, mechanical and environmental test conditions and specifications of the product. The product drawing specification sheet lists some important or frequently cited items for the convenience of users. 1. The names and data of the specifications. 2. The file number of the technical document, customers can refer to it for more detailed information. (e.g., specifications, test reports, work instructions)

4: Layout page of package and metal mesh surface:

Recommended dimensions and layouts of pads and mesh are illustrated.

5: Furnace temperature curve:
