Amphenol | Amphenol Connectors The DensiShield ® High-Speed Cable Connector product is a: Amphenol ICC's DensiShield ® I/O system is designed to support high-speed serial differential signaling while taking into account the customer's equipment packaging requirements. High density, high mechanical strength, and ease of PCB assembly, combined with excellent shielding and signal integrity, mean system designers no longer have to compromise. DensiShield ® connectors are based on a wafer system with a differential pair structure, where adjacent differential pairs and wafers are shielded from each other. This 8-pair connector is ideal for 4 bidirectional lanes at speeds greater than 2.5Gb/s, the same as an Infiniband or XAUI link, but with higher data rates. The long engagement and low profile design of DensiShield ® connectors not only allows system routing to be more compact than other high speed systems, but can also be used in dense system designs with board-to-board space as low as 15 mm. Such connectors can also be configured to transmit low speed signals and power and are available in selectively loaded versions, thus allowing system designers to benefit from the density and strength of such connector systems in input/output applications that do not require high speed signal transmission.
