HCI ® connectors feature stamped and formed power terminals, which were first used by Amphenol ICC in its PwrBlade ® system, as an innovative and low-cost alternative to expensive machined pins for high-current applications. Touch resistant HCI ® plastic case also provides vents to optimize air circulation. This plastic housing allows air flow through the connector, and vents are provided above the signal field and power terminals to allow air to flow away from the mating surface and along the entire length of the needle. HCI ® offers options that support standard coplanar (right angle plug to right angle female) and backplane (right angle plug to vertical female) form factors.
