Amphenol | Amphenol Connectors Metral ® High-Speed 2000 Series is a: Amphenol ICC's Metral ® 2000 Series is a high-speed, 2 mm backplane vertical male connector system. The 2000 series features a unique stripline construction. Except for this stripline construction, it is similar to Amphenol ICC's Metral ® standard connector. The stripline structure allows the Metral ® 2000 Series to have better signal performance when routed in a single-ended or differential pair configuration. The Metral ® 2000 Series is available in 5x6 and 8x12 module sizes for midplane applications. The system also has a dedicated grounding pin. For a 5-row connector, the third row is a dedicated ground pin. For an 8-row connector, rows 3 and 5 are dedicated ground pins. Two-module, three-module, and four-module monoliths are available for 5-row connectors. The Metral ® 2000 Series connectors are designed to facilitate end-to-end stacking with other Amphenol ICC Metral ® products and can be mated with Metral ® 1000/4000 Series female connectors.
