Amphenol | Amphenol Connectors Metral ® High-Speed 4000 Series is a: Amphenol ICC's Metral ® 4000 Series is a high-speed, 2mm backplane connector system consisting of a right-angle female and a vertical male. Both the female and the male of the 4000 series adopt a unique stripline structure. Compared to the Metral ® 1000 and 2000 series, the Metral ® 4000 female connector features an improved female terminal geometry optimized for the transmission of 100 ohm-meter differential signals. This results in better impedance matching and lower insertion loss. The Metral ® 4000 male and female connectors are also available with crimp pins and are designed for 0.6 mm drilling. The smaller aperture not only provides more board space for routing, but also reduces capacitance. The Metral ® 4000 Series is available in a choice of 5 x6 module sizes. In addition to using a ground shield between each column, this 5-row connector uses a third row for the ground connection. Metral ® 4000 Series connections are similar to Amphenol ICC Metral ® standard connectors, except for an enhanced design that increases high-speed electrical performance to 6.25 Gb/s. The series is designed to facilitate end-to-end stacking with other Amphenol ICC Metral ® products.
