Amphenol Amphenol Connector SCA-2 connector product is a: The SCA-2 connector system consists of a plug and a socket, which can connect a hard disk drive to the backplane interface of an enterprise storage system. The plug is located on the hard drive, while the socket is connected to the backplane. The 40-bit SCA-2 socket is designed to plug into Fibre Channel drives, while the 80-bit socket is designed to plug into SCSI drives. The interface complies with the Small Form Factor Standard, SFF8451 and SFF8454 standards. The 12G SCA-2 receptacle connector also meets the requirements of SFF8680. Internal design enhancements and retrofitted PCB terminations improve impedance, insertion loss and reduce crosstalk, allowing connectors to achieve the transmission speeds required for 4G, 8G and 12G applications. The SCA-2 connector interface uses a 1.27 mm pitch, high-reliability double-row, blade-on-beam terminal. The first connection/later disconnection function of the terminals can be matched in sequence, which meets the requirements of SFF. The driver interface has robust alignment and polarization features, allowing blind insertion. In addition, the dual ESD terminals have electrostatic discharge protection function. Vertical backplane receptacles have greater heights (11.5 mm and 17.5 mm) and are available with through-hole soldering, crimp, or surface-packaged board termination options. An SCA-2 plug designed for cross-mounting circuit board termination is also provided.
