MIL-STD-1553B Data Bus Coupler The Cinch Trompeter Coupler provides a complete solution for the components required to implement the physical layer data bus The Cinch Trompeter MIL-STD-1553B Data Bus Coupler provides the interface required to connect the bus controller, remote terminal and bus monitor to the bus itself. Although its data rate of 1 Mbps seems slow by current standards, it is more than adequate for transmitting command, control, and status messages between connected systems. The buses are typically less than 100 meters in length, use 78Ω dual coaxial cables, terminated at both ends with 78Ω termination resistors (internal or external), and can connect up to 30 remote terminations (computers, sensors, displays, armaments, etc.) to bus headers shorter than 20 feet. Bus couplers complement the complete product line of Trompeter MIL-STD-1553B devices, which includes cable assemblies, terminators, RFI caps, connectors and adapters. Trompeter's MIL-STD-1553B components are suitable for land, sea, air and satellite systems.
