FX27 Series High-Speed Card Edge Connectors Hirose's FX27 Series Card Edge Connectors are widely suitable for industrial and automotive applications Hirose's FX27 Series 0.8 mm point-pitch board-to-board connectors enable flexible stacking heights by simply changing the length of the printed circuit board (PCB) interposer without the need to use connectors of different heights. Compared to previous high-speed FunctionMAX ™ Series connectors, the FX27 connector has a larger XY axis floating range. Now supporting a floating range of ± 1. 2 mm in both X and Y directions, these connectors absorb stresses due to misalignment while tightening screws and PCB shrinkage due to high temperatures. The FX27 series high-speed card edge connectors also have a wide range of ± 0. 7 mm self-alignment in the X and Y directions. Floating contacts and self-alignment design simplify the assembly process, saving time and cost, especially when mating multiple connectors on the same board. A friction lock on one side ensures that the interposer plate is secured to the desired connector when disassembled. Supporting the PCIExpress ® Gen 1 interface standard, this series offers data transfer speeds of up to 2.5 Gbps. When used as a stacked connector, customize its stack height, wiring, and component installation. Conductors that transmit power through flexible height adjustment are also available. The double-beam contact design of the board-to-board connector provides self-cleaning functionality. The contacts on both sockets are enclosed in a housing that provides protection against dust. This feature also reduces the risk of dust adhesion due to solder waste and flux during installation. The FX27 series can operate in environments ranging from-55 °C to + 105 °C, including current-induced temperature rises, and can provide 0.5 A per pin. The recommended PCB layout is 60-bit for mounting, interposer, and notch designs. In addition to industrial and automotive environments, the series is designed for a wide range of applications, including base stations, servo drives, servers, servomotors, cash registers, ultrasonic diagnostic equipment, PLCs and more.
