The CABLINE ®-VS series ultra-thin coaxial connector developed and produced by I-PEX Company is an industry standard interface connector for LED backlight panels defined by the VESA ® Association. EMI interference problem: In recent years, narrow-bezel panels are popular, so the utilization requirements of control PCB boards are getting higher and higher, and some necessary functional devices (controllers, radio frequency antennas, camera modules) need to be integrated on a PCB substrate. (Figure 1 below) This will lead to interference problems between various devices and signals. (Figure 2 below) The introduction of connectors with EMI shields can solve this problem well.

1.2. The panel interface requires ultra-high-speed data transmission: the pixels (2K-> 4K-> 5K-> 8K) and refresh rate (30 Hz-> 60 Hz-> 120 Hz) of the display panel are gradually increasing, and the eDP specifications of the panel industry are also constantly updated, so the interface connector must support higher-speed data transmission requirements. eDP specifications: RBR (1.62 Gbps/lane), HBR (2.70 Gbps/lane), HBR2 (5.40 Gbps/lane), HBR3 (8.10 Gbps/lane), UHBR20 DP next generation specifications (20 Gbps/lane) 1.3. In addition to panels, the need for high-speed data transmission within electronic devices: Different data transmission standards tend to be more and more urgent (as shown below). More popular data interface standards, such as USB, Thunderbolt ™ and DP, have all reached rates of 20 Gbps/lane.

2. The new design concept meets the next generation of ultra-thin coaxial connectors CABLINE ®-VS II ・ CABLINE ®-CA II: CABLINE-VS II ・ CABLINE-CA II series connectors are all designed with 360 ° fully shielded structure, self-locking horizontal plug-in ultra-thin coaxial connector. The main differences are the spacing of the connectors (VS II: 0.5 mm, CA II: 0.4 mm) and the height (VS II: 1.2 mm max, CA II: 1.1 mm max). If your application requires a coaxial line with a relatively thick wire diameter (extremely thin coaxial line 45 Ω AWG # 36, electronic wire AWG # 32), then please use the CABLINE-VS II series products. If you require a small footprint of the connector, use the CABLINE-CA II series products. Limited by the size of the substrate, but with large Pin count requirements, please use CABLINE-CA II series products.

3. Solution of motherboard side connector: The requirements for high-speed data transmission and anti-EMI interference are not limited to the LCD panel side, and the same requirements are also for the motherboard side connected to the LCD panel. In order to simplify the design and facilitate the operation, the connectors on the motherboard side of notebook computers generally adopt vertical plug-in and unplug products with 90 outlet lines. The FPL series (extremely thin coaxial connectors with a pitch of 0.5 mm) developed and produced by I-PEX has been widely used.
