The maximum wading depth of a vehicle is the height of the "wading line" from the ground. The "wading line" is the level of the deepest water that a vehicle can pass at a speed of 10 Km/H. The connectors on these harnesses (except the door cable) are required to be waterproof, and the part perforated to the room needs to be sealed with rubber parts to prevent water from entering the cab. In addition, the punch points on the harness must be protected with heat-shrinkable tubes, and all grounding points must be protected with heat-shrinkable tubes with adhesive. For the door harness, the plug-in below the water line only has a low voltage horn, and it is recommended that the plug-in be protected against water. Dry area, except for the wet area, the rest of the area is dry. Harnesses located in this area include the instrument harness, the roof harness, the left floor harness, and the right floor harness. These harness connectors do not need to be waterproof, but for the parts directly in contact with the outdoor, they need to be sealed with cable ties, and the vias are sealed with rubber pieces to avoid indoor water. It is concluded that waterproof design of wiring harness is a necessary content in wiring harness design. Once the waterproof design fails, it is easy to cause abnormal operation of various electrical systems, affect the comfort of the vehicle, and even cause great safety risks. Waterproof test shall be carried out after the design is completed, so as to check the reliability of waterproof design.
