In our daily life, when we install the optical fiber jumper, we should pay attention to the fact that the bending degree of the cable should not exceed its bending radius, otherwise it will cause light leakage and loss. The greater the bending degree, the greater the loss caused by the signal lamp not being lit. Therefore, this type of fiber patch cord is definitely not suitable for the dense routing areas of large data centers. How to solve the problem of cabling density in large data centers? The bend-insensitive fiber patch cord is an ideal solution for high-density cabling, offering excellent bend resistance and the same physical and electro-optical characteristics as conventional fiber patch cords.

What is the bending radius? Under all normal operating characteristics of the optical cable, the better the bending resistance of the cable, the smaller the bending radius of the cable. In general, the static bending radius of the optical cable is 10 times the diameter of the optical cable, and the dynamic bending radius is 20 times the diameter of the optical cable. At present, in the sales market, the bending radius of the general optical fiber jumper is generally 30mm, and the bending radius of the elbow insensitive optical fiber jumper is smaller, only a few millimeters. The key to the bent-tube fiber patch cord is the bend-insensitive multimode fiber patch cord and the bend-insensitive multimode fiber patch cord. Bend Insensitive Multimode Fiber Patch Cord The reliability design of the bend insensitive multimode fiber patch cord greatly improves its bending performance. The current ITU specifications G.657 A and G.657 B have different requirements for two different types of fiber optic patch cords that are not bend sensitive. The two fiber patch cords can also be further subdivided into G.657.A1/G.657.A2/G.657.B1 and G.657.B2. The minimum bending radius of G.657.A1 leakage wire is 10 mm, the minimum bending radius of G.657.A2 and G.657.B1 leakage wire is 7.5 mm, and the minimum half diameter of G.657.B2 leakage wire can be 5 mm. Compared with the G652 leaky cable, the G.657 multi-mode bend-insensitive leaky cable is more flexible to use, can complete a variety of different installation methods, and is widely used in today's large data centers. Bend-insensitive multimode fiber patch cords have a minimum bend radius of 7.5 mm and a unique electro-optical "trench" design between the core and cladding that retains more light than traditional multimode fiber patch cords. It is important to note that the bend insensitive multimode fiber patch cords are designed to better meet the needs of FTTH applications, and more and more bend insensitive multimode fibers are being used in high-density cabling in large data centers.
